Security and safety concerns

What are the benefits for stores to purchase this technology? Spy mannequins, RFID tags, and phone tracking can help retailers in different ways. Spy mannequins can help a store determine the what group is in what sections of the store, this can help them to target certain audiences when they are advertising or adding new products. RFID technology can have multiple uses but one is that it may eventually replace UPC codes and allow for a greater amount of detail (RFID Recruiter). Phone tracking has a lot of the same benefits as the spy mannequins. Phone tracking allows the retailer to track who is in the store and what parts of the store they are in the most.

What security and privacy issues arise for their use? Some of the main concerns are consent requirements and data privacy (GS Hans). One question that comes up is should the retailer have consent from the customer to track them through out the store? Is it a violation of the customers rights with out consent from the customer. The other questions is when the customer is being tracked throughout the store with these various methods, does it create a security risk to the customers private information?
